Slice of Life: Seriously Good Pizza

On Sunday afternoon my friend Jeremy and I had lunch at Slice of Life downtown, one of my absolute favorite Wilmington establishments.  I’d been craving this pizza for weeks, I tell ya!
It really is very good, and so affordable, too!  I had two awesome slices and endless Coke refills for around $8 — how can you beat that?  We sat at the bar, because there are very few tables in here, and they were full.

That’s one of the things that makes this place so special and likable, though – it’s small, quaint, and often full of interesting people.  And the folks who work there are always good about getting you want you want and pretty quick too, in my experience.

Another wonderful thing is, the place has a totally different feel, depending on when you go.  On Sunday it was families and small groups, and a couple of people on their own at the bar. Quiet and low-key, with sports on the tele. (We were mesmerized by the ice-skating, followed by the gymnastics, that were on the tv closest to us.  But there was also football on the larger tv.) If you go late night on a weekend, it’ll be packed and noisy, and sometimes raucous. But no matter when you go or what the atmosphere is like, the food will always be good. Oh yeah, they have a full bar too! (For more info and to see a menu, go here.)
